PORTLAND SLAG CEMENT

Portland Slag Cement is manufactured by us as per IS: 455 by inter-grinding not less than 35% of ordinary Portland cement clinker and granulated blast furnace slag. It has the advantages in generating heat less quickly than OPC. Because of its high sulphate resistance, it is used in sea water construction. Rashmi Cement would like to bring to attention a few technical practices being strictly followed in our plant to ensure that we maintain the same standards as any leading market brand and this has brought us tremendous acceptability among the major builders across the country.

1. We have deviated from the I.S. practice of compressive strength test on 3, 7 and 28 days. We ensure that the one day strength stays above 10 Mpa. This is to accommodate the increasingly growing practice of opening the column shuttering after 24 hours.
    

2. We ensure that the 3 days, 7 days and 28 days strengths stay above 22, 32 and 53 Mpa respectively.
    

3. We maintain our fineness above 380.
    

4. We regularly test cements of other leading brands to keep a tab on the technical improvements.
    

5. We have a fully equipped laboratory with a mini grinding ball mill to ensure that any change in t he clinker/ slag ration is pre-checked for all technical parameters.
    

6. Since there is a shortage of domestic clinker. We are importing this from Indonesia, where the standards are high.
